Middlesex Pride 2024

27 July 2024 | Osterely Park

Middlesex Pride recognises that Pride started as a protest and that Pride is political. This is why our theme this year is ‘solidarity’. Middlesex Pride is a trans and non-binary majority team. Trans and non-binary communities are experiencing vilification in the media, rising hate crime numbers, attacks upon gender-affirming care, and increased hostility from people with power, including politicians. Trans youth are having their healthcare restricted, as prescribing puberty blockers to under-18s has been banned. Middlesex pride therefore stands in solidarity with trans and non-binary communities. Trans and non-binary people deserve safety, healthcare and the freedom to live authentically.

We also recognise the importance of solidarity with all fights for justice. This is why Middlesex Pride stands in solidarity with Palestine. Israel has enforced 75 years of apartheid upon Palestine, and are currently committing genocide in Gaza. We offer our solidarity and voice to the people of Palestine. We particularly condemn the pinkwashing of Israel as it attempts to justify their occupation of Palestine. As LGBTQIA+ people, we resist being used to justify genocide. Free Palestine.

Middlesex Pride is proud to be in solitary with trans and non-binary communities, and with Palestine. Trans liberation now. Palestinian liberation now.

Middlesex Pride is here to let the LGBTQIA+ people of Middlesex know that they are important, supported and deserve celebration. Middlesex Pride promotes solidarity, unity and justice. Middlesex Pride is community.
